Fraud warning for the visa applicants
20.08.2024
The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland has noted a significant increase in fraudulent emails and letters sent to applicants. The people behind these fraudulent emails and letters are posing as the Embassy’s personnel. Therefore, please protect yourself against fraud by reviewing the requirements for a visa for which you are applying on the Embassy’s website.
The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland strongly advices against contacting or using services of the travel agents claiming to have any ties / special relations with the Embassy, as well as persons offering special visa authorization letters allegedly signed by any member of the Polish Foreign Service or the Embassy itself.
The Embassy is not issuing any authorization letters to applicants. The only ways of communicating the result of the procedure are visa stamped in passports or refusal letters handed to an applicant. No assessment or authorization is granted to the applicant prior to the application is properly lodged at the counter.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland does not issue work permits or other documents entitling to work in Poland and does not issue residence cards – the above documents are issued by competent authorities in Poland.
Neither the Ministry of Foreign Affairs nor the Embassy itself verify the authenticity of work permits or residence cards.
Please note that official communication is carried out by the Embassy’s personnel from the official e-mail address newdelhi.amb.wk@msz.gov.pl or other account in the domain @msz.gov.pl only. Contact details of the Consular Section can be found at the Embassy’s website: https://www.gov.pl/web/india/embassy-new-delhi. Information received from other sources should be considered as coming from unauthorized entities.
Procedure of applying for a visa and requirements for the same are unified for all applicants and clearly described on the Embassy’s website: https://www.gov.pl/web/india/visas. It should be stressed that in case of work and study visa applications personal presence of an applicant at the counter is mandatory. Currently, appointments for work and study visa can be booked only through e-consulate system and there are no direct appointments at the Embassy available.
No special arrangements out of the stipulated framework are provided to any applicant. There are no additional fees which must be paid to the Embassy other than the visa fee. In case of applying at one of the VFS Global Visa Application Centres some additional service charges may apply as per the pricelist available at the VFS website (https://www.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/poland/india/english/index.html).
