2) Foreign trade: In 2016, the trade turnover of Poland and Maldives increased by as much as 78% and amounted to USD 10.77 million. The sharp increase in exports was the most important for the growth of bilateral economic turnover - by 85% year-on-year, to USD 10.09 million and maintaining low imports (USD 0.7 million). The turnover balance amounted to USD 9.39 million in favor of Poland. The basis for Polish exports to the Maldives in 2016 were food products, primarily various kinds of water and drinks worth USD 4.82 million. Particular attention should be paid to the popularity of Polish energy drinks in the Maldivian market. In second place, in terms of value, there are products of the wood and paper industry (about USD 1.65 million), in which there is a clear upward trend. As in 2015, Poland imported mainly products of animal origin: fish, crustaceans and molluscs worth USD 0.55 million. In the first half of 2017, there was a drop in Polish exports to the Maldives by 30%, mainly as a result of a smaller sale of mineral and carbonated waters, sweetened or flavored, and wood. A decrease in imports by 19% was also observed.

3) Investments: According to data from the National Bank of Poland, there are presently no companies registered in the Maldives which have invested in Poland. Similarly, there are no instances of Polish companies having made investments in the Maldives.

4) Regional cooperation: Due to the large geographic distance and low intensity of economic contacts, regional economic cooperation is not developed.

5) Cooperation of self-regulatory organizations: Cooperation of economic self-governments has not been recorded.
