A mining industry delegation in the form of the newly formed HINTECH group visited India from June 11-17 to present opportunities for cooperation between Poland and India together with the Polish Embassy in New Delhi.

The visit included a conference for invited companies of the Indian mining industry, a business matchmaking session, and a series of meetings with individual entities such as Coal India Limited, MGMI, West Bengal PDCL, Hindustan Copper, MINSOL, Shrachi BTL EPC, Metallon Holdings Ltd. and Thyssenkrupp India. The highlights of the visit were meetings with Dr. Shashi Panja and Aroop Biswas, Minister of Industry and Minister of Energy of West Bengal, respectively. Talks with representatives of the Indian side covered the current situation of the mining sector in both countries, modern mining technologies and the potential for cooperation between industries focused on Silesia and West Bengal, respectively. Participants had the opportunity to learn the Indian and Polish perspectives on the most important elements of the industry, legal changes or technical advances in this demanding sector.

The visit undoubtedly contributed to strengthening Poland's image as a reliable and experienced solution supply partner for the mining industry, while also introducing India as a promising and receptive market. It also provided a unique platform for sharing knowledge, experience and best practices among mining industry professionals. Through interactive sessions and discussions, both sides were able to address the transfer of advanced technologies, innovative mining techniques and sustainable practices, contributing to the overall development of the industry.

With a growing emphasis on sustainability, the Polish mining industry's visit to India reinforced a joint commitment to responsible mining practices. In line with the meetings, both sides will work to optimize resource utilization, minimize environmental impacts and promote the well-being of local communities affected by mining activities. Moreover, by engaging both sides in constructive dialogue and partnership building, the visit not only paved the way for enhanced economic cooperation, but also fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultures, values and aspirations.
