Polish National Independence Day and Polish Armed Forces Day Reception

On November 5, a reception was held in New Delhi to celebrate the National Independence Day of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Armed Forces Day. The event brought together over 400 guests, including representatives from the fields of culture, business, local authorities, and the diplomatic corpus. The event provided a unique platform to showcase Polish culture, traditions, and cuisine in the heart of India.
During the event, Mr. Sebastian Domżalski, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland in India, addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of the 70th anniversary of Polish-Indian relations. He highlighted the deepening of political ties following Prime Minister Modi's visit to Poland earlier this year, as well as underscored the importance of the recently signed strategic partnership between Poland and India. The guest of honor, Mr. Tanmaya Lal, Secretary West at The Ministry of External Affairs, India, spoke about the longstanding history of Polish-Indian relations and the immense potential for further collaboration between the two nations.
A key highlight of the evening was the culinary showcase of Polish cuisine, led by renowned chefs Mr. Łukasz Konik and Mr. Michał Soliwoda. Guests tasted the traditional Polish dishes such as pierogi, pork knuckle, Silesian dumplings, and braised beetroot, while learning about the history and stories behind these delicacies. The array of Polish desserts, including cream puffs and a comforting apple pie, added a delightful finishing touch to the evening's experience.
