Polish film “Never Gonna Snow Again” by artistic duo Małgorzata Szumowska and Maciej Englert was screened in Indonesia as a part of the 22nd edition of the European on Screen Film Festival.

Awarded many times at international film festivals, the poetically presented drama with elements of satire from 2021, touching on current social problems, including migration, climate change, while also referring to the presence of the Ukrainian community in Poland, was very well received by local audiences, closely following trends in contemporary European cinema.  The film was also available online via the Festival Scope platform from June 18-30 this year.

The leitmotif of this year’s edition of the festival was the expression of support and solidarity with Ukraine. In the speech preceding the screening, Consul Jakub Żaczek referred to the situation in Ukraine and the assistance Poland provides to refugees from from areas affected by the war.

The speech was also an opportunity to highlight the achievements of Polish cinematography.

The Europe on Screen (EOS) film festival is the oldest foreign film festival in Indonesia. The event attracts a wide range of Indonesian audiences every year.   This year's festival featured 40 European films and 3 Indonesian films.
