On September 10, 2023, at Yad Vashem, Rozalia and Michał Kopacz were awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

The ceremony was attended by chargé d'affaires of the Republic of Poland in Israel, Agata Czaplińska.

During the II World War, Róża and Michał Kopacz selflessly reached out and saved their friends, the Jewish Nadel family, including young Tully Nadel, who was only eight years old at the time.

During the ceremony the members of the Kopacz family met with the descendants of the family that Róża and Michał saved.

Poles constitute the largest national group within the Righteous Among the Nations.
