Poland in Kuwait

Pieces of Polish and Ukrainian music (Chopin, Lysenko, Moniuszko) were performed by Polish and Ukrainian musicians and students of the Kuwait Music Academy. This was the first event promoting solidarity with Ukraine in Kuwait.

The concert was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Kuwait; ambassadors of: Austria, Croatia, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Great Britain, Hungary and representatives of the embassies of Australia, Greece, Spain, Slovakia and the United States. Representatives of the Polish and Ukrainian communities in Kuwait and representatives of the local media (press and TV) were also present.

During his opening speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Kuwait, Paweł Lechowicz, emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians in this extremely difficult time. He said that Poland is strongly involved in helping refugees in many ways and on many levels. The concert organised by the post is one way of manifesting disagreement with Russia's actions and showing support for the Ukrainian community in Kuwait. He also referred to the assistance provided by the Kuwaiti authorities to the AU and thanked for the humanitarian aid donated to Poland for Ukrainian refugees. The Ukrainian Ambassador to Kuwait, Aleksandr Balanutsa, also spoke. 

The event received widespread coverage in local traditional and social media. During the concert, Ambassador Lechowicz gave several ad hoc interviews.
