Poland in Malta

On the occasion of 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Malta Polish Embassy invites for photo exhibition entitled 'Poles in Malta'. The exhibition can be seen surrounding Teatru Rjal in Valletta from October 14th until November 15th.

A plaque commemorating the fallen sailors of the escort destroyer ORP "Kujawiak", which sank off the coast of Malta on June 16, 1942, can be seen in the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta.

The Ambassador and his wife took part in the Malta 2021 International Air Show, in which M28 Bryza aircraft of the Polish Navy participated. The ambassador visited the Polish crew under the command of Cpt. Tomasz Kawula.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in his article entitled "Poland’s New Deal" presents a picture of the economic recovery after the pandemic.

On June 16, on the 79th anniversary of the sinking of ORP "Kujawiak" (also known as HMS Oakley, L72) Tomasz Czyszek the Polish ambassador in Malta and Łukasz Felczak Polish consul in Malta, laid a wreath under a plaque commemorating the heroic death of 13 Polish sailors serving on the ship. The event took place in Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta.

On the occasion of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s 80th birthday (June 27, 1941) and the 25th anniversary of his death (March 13, 1996), the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Malta invites all cinema lovers between 24th-27th of June to a retrospective of the work of Krzysztof Kieślowski as documentary and feature films’ screenwriter and director.

The applications for the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music can be submitted until 31st May. The second edition of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music will be held at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów between 11 and 18 September 2021.

When on 3 May 1791 the Four-Year Sejm also called the Great Sejm adopted The Government Act of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth later known as the Constitution of 3 May, the Polish-Lithuanian state became the Europe’s first and the world’s second that passed the basic law. For its time, it was a progressive and bold legal act which initiated a number of reforms. It also constituted a crowning achievement of the centuries-old links between Poland and Lithuania.
