Ambassador and Consul pay a visit to Christchurch

On August 6, 2020, Ambassador Zbigniew Gniatkowski and Consul of the Republic of Poland Agnieszka Kacperska were in Christchurch.
During the meeting, ambassador Z. Gniatkowski outlined the state of Polish-New Zealand relations and summed up the last few years of cooperation with the Polish Community of the South Island. The event organised by the Polish Honorary Consul Winsome Dormer was attended by leaders and members of the Polish Community organisations from Christchurch (J. I. Pawłowski, A. Gruczyńska, D. Szymańska, T. Prokop, S. I. Śmiarowski) and Dunedin (C. Kłobukowska, E. Rożecka-Pollard, A. Munro). Ambassador Gniatkowski expressed his thanks for their support and fruitful cooperation which included cultural projects, education and promotion of Poland.
In his speech, the former Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament, David Carter of the National Party, referred to the Polish-New Zealand cooperation at the parliamentary level and dynamically growing trade. Also spoke the representatives of the consular corps in Christchurch - Martine Marshall (France) and David Morrell (Great Britain).
