On 12 August at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, the Polish Embassy hosted a special one-off screening of Andrzej Wajda's movie "Katyń" in order to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Katyń Massacre.

On August 6, 2020, Ambassador Zbigniew Gniatkowski and Consul of the Republic of Poland Agnieszka Kacperska were in Christchurch.

The call for proposals in the "Polish Returns 2020. COVID-19 Edition" program is addressed to institutions planning to employ scientists whose research may be relevant for broadening knowledge and solving significant problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences, in particular representatives of broadly understood health and biomedical sciences.

Ambassador of Poland visited Christchurch where he took part in the movie screening organised to commemorate the Katyń Massacre. The visit was also an opportunity to decorate a descendant of one of the Early Polish Settlers in New Zealand.

On June 18, 2020, a Requiem Mass was held for the late Krystyna Tomaszyk, a prominent representative of the Polish community in New Zealand. Among the participants of the funeral mass held at St Mary of the Angels in Wellington were family, friends, members of the Polish community and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in New Zealand.
