Outstanding Polish Women in Christchurch

On May 14 the official opening of the exhibition ”Outstanding Polish Women” took place in Christchurch.

During the event Polish Association in Christchurch and Polish embassy hosted a discussion panel with experts from the New Zealand world of culture, science and business. Among the distinguished and inspiring women were Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland to the South Island, Mrs. Winsome Dormer, Maori representative and Polish scientist from AgResearch (Lincoln Research Centre) Mrs. Ela Sawicka.

The ceremonial opening of the exhibition was accompanied by the themed art workshops for children, a performance by Polish folkloric dance group “Polonus” and a reception. This function was part of the events under Polish Heritage Days. The information about the event appeared in the local press and radio.
