The signing ceremony of the OACPS-EU agreement called Samoa Agreement took place in Apia, Samoa

The European Union and its Member States signed a new agreement with the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States. The ceremony took place on November 15, 2023 in Apia, Samoa.

This agreement replaces the previous so-called "Cotonou Agreement" and constitutes the basis for mutual relations between the countries. The Samoa agreement is to be valid for 20 years and covers areas such as sustainable development and economic growth, human rights and peace and security.

On behalf of the Republic of Poland the agreement was signed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in New Zealand, Grzegorz Kowal.
