Poland in New Zealand

A group of children and their parents spent a a lovely gateway weekend at El Rancho, a family holiday park, near Waikanae (region of Wellington).

It is an annual event organized by the Polish Association in New Zealand and for years now supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.

The participants, this year 88 children and adults, enjoyed time together full of fun and play, with dancing and singing. The sunny weather allowed to enjoy all the outdoor attractions, while evenings were spent by the bonfire, roasting Polish sausages and making traditional Polish food like pierogi and bigos.

The main idea behind the camp is not only to create a quality time for all the children with Polish roots, but as well to immerse them in Polish culture and language. We were told by the participants that they all had a wonderful weekend and cannot wait until next year!
