Belarus
Belarus was entered on the list of priority partners for Polish development cooperation in 2005. Polish aid for this country remains at a consistently high level.
An important area of cooperation is assistance for the most vulnerable groups of society at risk of marginalization, such as persons with disabilities, by supporting the activities of educational, care and health institutions in order to improve the quality of services offered. Poland also supports projects for sustainable economic growth, also by developing entrepreneurship and creating jobs, including in the tourism sector. Such projects contribute to the creation of infrastructure for cycle routes.
Building civil society, including activities supporting decision-making processes, plays an invariably important role. It is also important to protect fundamental rights and civic values, in particular the right to freedom, including freedom of expression and free access to reliable information. Poland promotes and supports good governance, respect for human rights and the application of democratic principles. The Solidarity Fund PL is an important partner in implementing aid activities in Belarus.
Thanks to the Polish scholarship offer, young Belarusians have easier access to high-quality education.
