Building of rescue competences in Fire Department in Moldova

The project carried out in cooperation with Moldova's General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations was based on four pillars: transfer of knowledge, supply of equipment, exrcises dor rescuers, and exchange of experience. The project involved courses in qwualified first aid, training in tactics for leaders, rescue operations in danger zones, and field workshops. 14 fire brigades were supplied wth rescue equipment, presentations equipment, rescue backpacks and boards and logistical tenst. The training was attended by 80 firemen. a manual on qualified first aid was translated into Romanian.
Trained and equipped fireman will be able to provide assistance and save human life during accidents and disasters. Knowledge of first aid rules is of prime importance for fireman. They are usually the first to arrive on the scene and contact he injured. Their efficient action, accurate assesment oj unjuries and proper first aid and effectibe avacuation efforts help preserve the life and health of victims of accidents and disasters. the project will be continued in 2020 involving an additional 150 firemen.
