Clean water and sanitation

6 Clean water and sanitation

All people should have access to clean water. Global resources are now sufficient, but inadequate management of them leads to many risks.  Hence, our activities are aimed at improving water management, both in terms of ensuring access to safe drinking water, rational use of water in all sectors of the economy, and taking care to maintain clean and natural water ecosystems.

Polish aid includes innovative solutions in this matter. We undertake educational activities on water and sanitary hygiene. We support the creation of systemic solutions, including legal changes, concerning water and waste management. We strive to reduce pollution produced by households (ensuring proper sanitary conditions) and economic sectors (limiting the use of harmful chemicals and other harmful materials).

We want to expand international cooperation and support the capacity of individual countries to take action and develop programmes related to water and sanitation. This will include water collection, efficient water management, wastewater treatment, recycling and water reuse technologies.
