Good health and well-being

3 Good health and well-being

Providing citizens with access to health care and health education are the basis for sustainable development of each country. Health is crucial to the success of sustainable growth and poverty eradication processes. In recent years, many countries have made good progress in improving health care standards. However, there are still many unresolved problems.

Our activities focus on improving the quality and accessibility of health care, especially for women and children, who are in the most difficult situation in this respect.

Polish aid aims at ensuring wider access to social services and improving the quality of these services for people from groups at risk of social exclusion. Education is an important element of the activities. Its aim is to exchange knowledge and experience with specialists and local medical personnel and to build hygiene and prevention awareness, especially among children and young people.

The activities of Polish aid also include the construction and modernisation of medical and sanitary infrastructure, as well as support for the functioning of local health centres. Together with countries in need, we are developing early warning and health risk management systems in the area of health.

Cooperation with partner countries includes strengthening their capacity to ensure food security for their citizens.
