Once again Poland is providing Iraq with assistance in fighting the spread of COVID-19. The material aid will be delivered through NATO Pandemic Response Trust Fund (PRTF).

- The migration situation in Cyprus has worsened considerably during the last three years. Today, we respond to the appeal of the Cypriot government by sending modular homes to the country - underlined MFA Secretary of State Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk in relation to the Polish aid transport to Cyprus. - Providing our EU partner and the local refugee community with modular homes is not only a gesture of solidarity but also Poland’s contribution to creating effective, humanitarian and secure European migration policy - added deputy head of Polish diplomacy Paweł Jabłoński.

“As a member of the international community, Poland acts with responsibility and solidarity – we respond to the most urgent problems and crises across the world. By providing assistance to countries particularly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, we not only offer direct support to their citizens but also seek to ensure global health security,” said Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński on the day Poland’s humanitarian aid transport was dispatched to India.

For many years, the State Fire Service (SFS) of Poland has been involved in international development assistance and aid programmes. Within the Polish Aid programme, the State Fire Service supports the establishment and development of fire service units and training centres in Georgia and Ukraine. It is also involved in the organisation of specialised education systems: it organises courses to train the trainers of future firefighters and trains firefighters in the area of road, water and chemical rescue operations

According to preliminary data (as of 15 March 2021), Poland’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) amounted to PLN 3.13 billion in 2020.

– Today Poland is once again fulfilling its obligation towards those affected by a humanitarian crisis – we are sharing what we can with a country facing problems in the aftermath of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In response to the Armenian government’s call for humanitarian assistance, we are providing the civilian population affected by armed conflict with urgent material aid: bedding, blankets, towels, digital thermometers, disinfectant liquid, and manometers – said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paweł Jabłoński on an airlift of humanitarian aid dispatched to Yerevan on 15 April 2021 at Kraków Airport.

According to the United Nations’ estimates, the availability of clean and safe drinking water can fall down as much as by 40% during the forthcoming decade. Until 2050, the demand for water will double, and over a half of the world’s population will be at risk of water scarcity.

The Development Cooperation Policy Council has unanimously adopted the Development Cooperation Plan for 2021. The meeting was chaired by the National Coordinator for Development Cooperation, Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński.
