Polish Aid supports Georgia’s regions in the fight against COVID-19 virus

Poland has provided Georgian medical personnel with protective equipment against coronavirus infection. The protective materials were purchased in Georgia with Polish Aid funds.
On 13 April 2020, the Representation of Solidarity Fund PL in Georgia provided the equipment to combat COVID-19 to the municipal authorities in Rustavi and Marneuli (Lower Kartli) and Gori (Inner Kartli). Such protective gear has also been donated to a clinic in Nikozi located near the demarcation line with South Ossetia.
The beneficiaries received equipment for spraying disinfectant liquids and a hand disinfectant as well as approx. 500 visor masks for medical staff and approx. 800 reusable protective face masks.
The official handover was made by Justyna Kucyk, the head of the Representation of Solidarity Fund PL in Georgia. Georgian officials at the ceremony included Shota Rekhviashvili, the governor of Lower Kartli province; Nino Goloshvili, a representative of the Gori Municipality Strategic Development Agency, a civic organisation (Inner Kartli); and Nikoloza Dzamukashvili, the head of the Nikozi clinic (Inner Kartli).
The regions of Inner Kartli and Lower Kartli received approx. PLN 11,000 worth of support.
