Reduced inequalities

10 Reduced inequalities

Without reducing inequalities, poverty cannot be eradicated. The situation of the weakest is a measure of the development of societies and countries. Only societies which integrate the opportunities and benefits of all their members and enable them to make a positive contribution to social and economic life have the chance of sustainable and balanced development. There is no doubt that ensuring gender equality and empowering women and girls can make a significant contribution to boosting development and thus eradicating poverty and, in conflict regions, strengthening stability and peacebuilding.

Poland aims to reduce existing inequalities. Our activities will focus on eliminating discriminatory practices, rights and policies in all areas of life, especially education, and at the same time support the equalisation of educational opportunities and the promotion of policies and actions to reduce inequalities. We support other countries in strengthening the representation and importance of marginalised social groups in the local, national and international decision-making process.
