Poland's top diplomat appreciated the UN agency's involvement in supporting refugees residing in Poland, among other things the fact that Poland has been once again included in the Regional Refugee Response Plan. A major part of this budget will be allocated for helping Ukrainians residing in Poland after they fled from the war. The assistance will be provided through Polish non-governmental organisations.

Kevin Allen thanked Poland for its unwavering support for Ukrainian refugees, highlighting the exemplary response of the Polish society to the ensuing crisis. He added that this approach is an excellent example of solidarity in action for humanity. He reminded that approximately 10 million Ukrainians still cannot return home and need help because of the ongoing war. For this reason, as the UNHCR publishes its 2024 Regional Refugee Response Plan for the Ukraine Situation, the agency calls on international donors to support the Plan financially.
