What is the purpose of development projects of the diplomatic and consular posts, and whom do they serve?
The development activities of Polish institutions serve to improve the living conditions of local communities, especially of socially disadvantaged groups. They also serve to create better prospects for the future. The support is mainly aimed at children and women.
The main goals are to eradicate poverty, to provide access to education and to improve health care. Depending on the needs and specificity of the region, beneficiaries are selected in accordance with the principle of equal opportunities, in particular in terms of gender, religion or origin.
Polish aid implemented by foreign service posts are projects which bring both “hard” and “soft” results, for example minor repairs of infrastructure, purchase of equipment for hospitals and schools, construction of wells, or various types of professional training.
