12.09.2022Ambassador of the Republic of Poland meets Deputy Police Commander in ChiefOn 12th September 2022 Mr Janusz Janke, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Qatar met maj. gen. Roman Kuster, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Police. The meeting, held at the Police Headquarters, was an occasion to discuss the involvement of Polish police forces in securing the FIFA 2022 World Cup. In order to ensure safety during the tournament, the organizer of the World Cup cooperates with the police forces of all the countries whose teams qualified for the tournament. Polish officers invited to Qatar will monitor the situation during the matches of the Polish national team. The meeting of the Ambassador with the Deputy Police Commander in Chief was also aimed at the exchange of up-to-date knowledge on the organizational issues related to the World Cup FIFA 2022.

06.09.2022Minister Krzysztof Szubert appointed to serve on the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Leadership PanelOn 16th August the United Nations announced the composition of the IGF Leadership Panel. The UN Secretary General appointed Minister Krzysztof Szubert, Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister for European digital policy and Poland's Plenipotentiary for the UN Digital Summit - IGF 2021, to work on the Panel for a period of two years (term 2022-2023).

08.08.2022Visit to the headquarters of the Qatari Coast GuardMr. Janusz Janke, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, paid a visit to the headquarters of the Qatari Coast Guard, where he was received by the unit commander Gen. Brig. Nasser Jabor Al Naimi (currently Major General). During the meeting, Polish-Qatari cooperation was discussed, especially the training of subsequent groups of Qatari cadets at the Naval Academy in Gdynia. In a conversation with the Ambassador, General Al Naimi emphasized that he was extremely pleased with the cooperation with the Naval Academy in Gdynia so far, and expressed hope for the further development of the collaboration.

04.08.2022Gathering of Head of Missions representing countries qualified for the FIFA 2022 World CupOn the initiative of Mr. Janusz Janke, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, a meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Qatar was held at his residence . The gathered envoys represented countries which qualified for the FIFA 2022 World Cup. H.E. Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Minister of Sport and Youth, was the guest of honour at the event. The Minister surprised the participants with a gift of official FIFA World Cup balls. The kind gesture was enthusiastically received by the gathered crowd. The guests also had an opportunity to taste traditional Polish dishes.

25.07.2022Meeting with the director of the Department for European Affairs at the Qatar Ministry of Foreign AffairsOn 25th July, Ambassador Janusz Janke met with the director of the Department for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Ambassador Saoud Abdulla Al Mahmoud. The Polish envoy outlined, among others, the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border. The interlocutor expressed his appreciation for the scale of support of the Polish government and society for Ukrainian authorities and citizens - refugees staying in Poland.

04.07.2022Polish-Qatari cooperation to ensure safety during the FIFA 2022 World CupDuring the visit to Doha of Major General Piotr Andrzej Błazeusz, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces and Major General Pilot Dariusz Malinowski, Deputy Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, an agreement was signed on 3 July aiming at bolstering the counter-terrorism capabilities of the Qatari security forces.
