Legalisation

Legalization of an official document is a confirmation, that the document comes from a competent office - by legalizing the document, the consul confirms the authenticity of the signature and stamp/seal of the foreign official. Basing on the legalization, a foreign official document can be used in Poland.

Legalization applies to countries that are not parties of the HCCH Convention of 5 October 1961, Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. Since Singapore acceded to the Hague Convention on 18 January 2021 and begins issuing the apostille on 16 September 2021, the consul in Singapore ceases to legalize Singaporean documents to be used in Poland.
