The beef sector in Poland

The EU promotion programme “European Beef on Asian Markets” is implemented by the Union of Producers and Employers of Meat Industry (UPEMI).

The purpose of today’s meeting at the seat of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was to provide the importers with detailed information on the beef sector in Poland, the scale and specificity of the production of this meat in our country and the conditions for exports of food of animal origin from Poland.

The visitors’ questions were answered by the representatives of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the General Veterinary Inspectorate and the National Support Centre for Agriculture.

“The production and exports of the meat are a Polish specialty. Poland is the third largest beef exporter in the EU. I expect that the contacts you enter into during your visit to Poland will lead to successive agreements on Polish beef supplies,” Deputy Minister Ryszard Bartosik said.

Exports of agri-food products to Japan

Japan and Hong Kong are important importers of food from Poland. In 2022, the value of our exports to Japan reached EUR 108 million and frozen beef was the most important product exported to this market. In turn, the value of Polish exports to Hong Kong reached EUR 93.8 million.
