Berlin: Fruit Logistica International Fruit and Vegetable Fair

– We are an important producer of fruit and vegetables that play an important role in the Polish export. I would like to thank fruit-growers, processors and exporters for their joint work – said the Undersecretary of State Adam Nowak during the official opening of the Polish stand at the Fruit Logistica International Fruit and Vegetable Fair in Berlin.
Apples – Polish export product
– I am glad that thanks to the funds administered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Poland proudly shows its offer at the Fruit Logistica fair and builds the export potential of Polish agriculture and fruit-growing.
Poland is the largest producer of apples in the European Union and the fourth producer in the world. The domestic harvest of fruit is 4–5 million tonnes a year, of which 80% account for apples – the Polish flagship product. Between January and November 2023, their export value amounted to more than EUR 360 million. Fruit-growing is a sector which made the best use of EU funds for high-quality processing and production.
15 years of Poland at the Fruit Logistica fair
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Polish stand at the Fruit Logistica fair in Berlin, the organisers awarded the commemorative crystal apple statuettes to the persons who had contributed to the long-term presence of Poland at the fair, including, inter alia:
- Dariusz Pawłoś, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Berlin;
- Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship;
- Janina Ewa Orzełowska, Member of the Board of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship;
- Leszek Przybytniak, councillor of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Sejmik;
- Tomasz Solis, councillor of the Lubelskie Voivodeship Sejmik;
- Dominik Woźniak, president of the World Apple and Pear Association WAPA,
Fruit Logistica Fair
The Fruit Logistica International Fair is the largest and most important fair and conference event of the fruit and vegetable industry in the world, which has been held since 1993. This year, 15 companies present their products at the Polish stand.
