State of play in the field of agriculture

Deputy Minister Jacek Czerniak emphasized that Poland and Vietnam are bound by very positive political, economic and socio-cultural relations. He expressed his hope that the excellent cooperation will be also reflected in trading in agri-food products. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture thanked for the template health certificates for goose and duck meat and beef agreed last year.

The Polish party is counting on successful finalisation of opening the Vietnamese market for northern highbush blueberry and enabling export of pork to Vietnam from all Polish voivodeships.

The Ambassador of Vietnam expressed his interest in intensifying the cooperation with Poland in the area of fisheries, which is a vital economic sector for Vietnam.

The interlocutors made arrangements on commencing the preparations to the following meeting of the Polish-Vietnamese Working Group for Agricultural Cooperation.

Trading in agri-food products

Vietnam is a very important and prospective partner of Poland in agri-food trade. In 2023, our export to this country reached the value of EUR 175.8 million (increase by 14% y/y). In the first quarter of 2024 we recorded an increase by 43% in the value of food exported onto the Vietnamese market compared to the same period in 2023. Polish meat and offal, fish meat and fish fillets attract the greatest interest of the Vietnamese consumers.
