Poland at the SIAL Middle East food fair
09.12.2021
This year’s SIAL Middle East – one of the region’s largest and most important trade fairs for the food and beverage industry – opened on 7 December in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Poland’s presence at this event takes the form of a Polish national stand.
The fair will continue until 9 December. The event invariably attracts the interest of Polish entrepreneurs. UAE import 90% of food products and are the second largest food consumer among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with other Council members being Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Presentations at the Polish stand
During this year’s edition of the SIAL Middle East trade fair, the Polish stand – endorsed by the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – showcased high quality food products, such as cereals, eggs and egg products, dairy products and powdered milk products, fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, as well as sweets, juices, beverages and a wide range of certified organic products.
An additional attraction encouraging people to visit the Ministry’s stand were live culinary shows, organised in cooperation with the Beef Promotion Fund and the Poultry Promotion Fund.
This years’ edition of the SIAL trade fair attracted wholesalers, retailers, institutional and individual buyers, retail networks and distributors from all over the world, and the Polish national stand met with an unwavering interest during all exhibition days.
Second place for a Polish product
Furthermore, one of the products presented at the Polish national stand, the gluten-free chickpeas wafers coated in dessert chocolate, won the second place in the competition for the most innovative product of the SIAL 2021 fair. This competition, organized at all SIAL events, is designed to present the latest trends in the agri-food industry, and the products submitted are subject to a long and rigorous selection process.
Participation in SIAL Middle East is an excellent opportunity to promote Polish high quality agri‑food products in the international arena, and to win new and maintain the existing markets for Polish food.
