The most important issues in the scope of bilateral cooperation in the agri-food sector were addressed during today’s meeting of Secretary of State Rafał Romanowski with Mrs. Sultana Laila Hossain, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Poland, and Mr. Reshadur Rahman, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Bangladesh.
Bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture
Deputy Minister Rafał Romanowski expressed his hopes that joint actions would be taken to even out Poland’s negative balance in its trade in agri-food products.
The Secretary of State stressed the high quality of Polish agri-food products and the large opportunities for their exports to foreign markets. He expressed the interest in the approval of veterinary certificates for exports of milk and dairy products, as well as poultry meat and its products, to Bangladesh.
Poland also informed that it saw a potential for the development of scientific and research cooperation.
Ambassador Sultana Laila Hossain said that she appreciated the achievements of Polish agriculture, especially with regard to the use of advanced production and harvest technologies. She declared her support for the development of bilateral relations at the administrative level. The Ambassador informed that Bangladesh had a large number of young, skilled agricultural human resources who were ready to engage in an exchange of experiences with Polish partners.
Honorary Consul Reshadur Rahman informed that Polish agri-food products, including apples and dairy products, were very much appreciated in Bangladesh. He also expressed his hopes that the Bangladeshi market would open more widely to Polish food.
