Director General B. Wijatyk thanked for the existing good Polish-Danish cooperation in the field of agriculture, particularly in the field of biogas, biomass and renewable energy. He stressed that the potential of Danish agriculture provided many opportunities for joint action and exchange of experiences.

Unity and cooperation in the EU forum

An important aspect of cooperation between our countries will be the process of accession of new Member States, including Ukraine, to the European Union. Poland and Denmark agree that opening the EU to Ukraine may be an opportunity and an investment, but what is necessary is a strategic reflection in the EU forum on future short- and long-term solutions that will help EU agriculture adapt to the conditions that this enlargement will bring.

In the context of the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union, which we will celebrate this year, Director General B. Wijatyk stressed the very positive balance of the presence of Polish agriculture and rural areas in the EU.

– Thanks to EU funds and instruments, there has been a huge transformation of our agricultural sector, thanks to which our agriculture is highly developed and modern – stressed Director B. Wijatyk.

Ambassador Ole Toft and Director General Bogusław Wijatyk affirmed unanimously that the current challenges and problems confirmed our belief in the importance of unity and cooperation within the European Union and NATO which Poland and Denmark wanted to develop and strengthen.
