He also expressed the hope that the procedure for agreeing on a veterinary certificate for exports of fishery products to Malawi would be finalised.
Interest from the Malawian side
Minister Nancy Tembo acknowledged the achievements of the Polish agricultural sector. She hoped for cooperation in the following areas: mechanisation of agriculture, minimisation of post-harvest losses, development of aquaculture, strengthening of exports, and training of personnel for agriculture, among others. She also expressed interest in Poland's export offer of agri-food products.
The Malawian side proposed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in agriculture, a draft of which it undertook to send.
Scientific and commercial cooperation
The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development indicated that it would be possible to consider cooperation with Polish research institutes in agriculture and fisheries. He also identified the National Support Centre for Agriculture as a government agency that could provide comprehensive support for developing trade between Poland and Malawi.

In the first two months of 2023, agricultural exports from Poland to Malawi reached EUR 7.4 million. The only commodity exported was wheat.
