Polish-Vietnamese talks

Today, the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak received a Vietnamese delegation headed by the Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Pham Gia Tuc.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the MARD and the National Support Centre for Agriculture, and on the part of Vietnam – the Ambassador of Vietnam to Poland Ha Hoang Hai.
Friendly relationships
– Our talks are based on a long tradition of friendly relationships – stressed the Deputy Minister. He also emphasised the role of Poland as an important producer and exporter of agri-food products in the European Union and worldwide. Moreover, he confirmed the readiness of the Polish party to increase the export of food to the Vietnamese market.
He thanked the Vietnamese guests for referring to the aid granted by Poland to Vietnam, one of the symbols of which is Polish bread.
– In the Polish tradition, bread is a very important symbol, a symbol of hard work of a farmer on the land – highlighted the Deputy Minister Jacek Czerniak.
Prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation and trade
– Vietnam is an important country for Poland also in terms of trade cooperation –noted the Secretary of State.
He also expressed his hope that the conditions of export from Poland to Vietnam would be agreed, inter alia, for processed animal protein, down and feathers, as well as dog and cat foods.
– An excellent opportunity to finalise the arrangements regarding the development of the agri-food export to Vietnam will be the upcoming third meeting of the Polish-Vietnamese working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture, which will be held at the end of November in Hanoi – added the Deputy Minister.
Position of the Vietnamese party
The Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee Pham Gia Tuc shared interest in activities aimed at increasing the level of trade in agri-food products between Poland and Vietnam. He expressed his belief that the Nam Dinh Province should participate actively in the development of Polish-Vietnamese trade relations and contacts between companies of both countries.
Results of the Polish agri-food export to Vietnam
Vietnam is the most important customer of Polish agri-food goods in South-East Asia. In 2023, the agri-food export to Vietnam amounted to EUR 175.7 million. We sold mainly: turkey meat and offal, fish meat, salmon fillets, flours, meals and granules of meat and offal, edible pork offal.
In the period I-VIII 2024, the export to Vietnam reached the level of more than EUR 124 million – the major goods include poultry meat and offal, fish fillets, animal intestines and stomachs, and beef offal.
