– We are here for you. I would like the visit to Poland to be successful and to ensure good contacts for both parties – said the Secretary of State Michał Kołodziejczak, who today received the importers of meat from the Republic of Korea.

Visit to the Ministry of Agriculture
The delegation of Korean entrepreneurs is visiting Poland as part of the project “Meat from Poland in the Republic of Korea”, implemented by the Union of Producers and Employers of Meat Industry (UPEMI). The objective of the programme is to support Polish entrepreneurs in establishing business relations with Korean partners.
Call for the completion of procedures
– We will be grateful for providing the Korean authorities with information about your interest in commercial cooperation with Polish suppliers – said Deputy Minister Kołodziejczak.
During the talks, the Secretary of State pointed out that the Polish party expected the administration of the Republic of Korea to quickly complete the procedures required to start exporting poultry meat and beef.
Meat sector in Poland
The meeting served to present the importers with detailed information about the meat sector in Poland, the scale and specific nature of production of poultry meat, beef and pork in our country, as well as the conditions of exporting this product range from Poland.
The Korean importers informed they noticed a very big potential of Poland as a country that could become one of the leading suppliers of meat to the Republic of Korea in several years.
Trade in agri-food products
The Republic of Korea is a very important and prospective partner of Poland in agri-food trade. In 2023, our export to this country amounted to EUR 82.6 million (an increase by 9% when compared to 2022).
In the period from January to May 2024, we exported to the Republic of Korea agri-food products worth EUR 44 million (this is an increase by 19% when compared to the same period of 2023). The most popular products in the Korean market are milk and cream, potato starch and beer.
The first Polish pork establishments have been approved for export to the Korean market. We are actively working for the completion of procedures determining the commencement of shipping poultry and beef consignments from Poland.
