27.02.2020
Today, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski received the Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Animal Resources and Fishery, Moussa Dosso. Poland’s Chief Veterinary Officer Bogdan Konopka also joined the talks.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire’s delegation and its objective was to discuss the possibility of establishing bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture.
During the meeting, Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski stated that he saw great potential for bilateral cooperation. This also applies to ensuring food security of Côte d’Ivoire through the supply of high quality Polish agri-food products that meet the expectations of even the most discerning consumers.
The delegation of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire was interested to learn about the conditions of agricultural and food production in Poland and the export potential of the Polish agri-food sector.
Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski stressed that one of the conditions for intensifying trade in agri-food products was satisfying all the procedures that enable marketing Polish agri-food products on the Côte d’Ivoire market. Poland’s postulates in this area were presented by the Chief Veterinary Officer.
Both sides expressed the will to intensify cooperation in the field of agriculture, especially given how both countries’ agricultural sectors complement each other. The most promising Polish export offerings are meat and meat products, including: poultry and beef. Côte d’Ivoire, in turn, is a leader in the production of cocoa, chocolate and cashew nuts.
