Council for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Associations on their Processing of Data

Tasks
- supporting the Minister of Digital Affairs in shaping data processing policy, including personal data, in the scope concerning churches and religious associations;
- consulting activities undertaken by the Minister of Digital Affairs in the scope of processing and securing data in resources and archives of churches and religious associations.
Members
The Council is made up of:
- Chairman of the Council, Director of the Data Management Department at the Ministry of Digital Affairs;
- representative of the Ministry of Interior and Administration;
- representative of the Ombudsman;
- representative of the Children's Rights Ombudsman;
- representative of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data;
- representatives of churches and religious associations that have established independent supervisory bodies, as referred to in Article 91(2) of the GDPR.
Legal basis
The Council was appointed by the Ordinance No. 3 of the Minister of Digital Affairs of 30 January 2019. (Dz. Urz. MC [Official Journal of the MoDA], item 3) on the basis of Article 7, paragraph 4(5) of the Act of 8 August 1996 on the Council of Ministers. Its goal is to diagnose various areas related to data processing by churches and religious associations, which may require the support of the Minister of Digital Affairs. On the basis of the Ordinance, representatives of churches and religious associations operating on the basis of separate acts as well as those entered into the register of churches and other religious associations may participate in the work of the Council.
