33. FAO Regional Conference for Europe

The 33rd session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ Regional Conference for Europe (ERC33) will be held on 10 - 13 May in Łódź, during which the issues of ensuring food security and the transformation of agrifood systems will be discussed. The event will be attended by representatives of agriculture ministries from 50 countries in Europe and Central Asia.
The opening of the conference will be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Prime Minister Henryk Kowalczyk, EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski and FAO General Director Qu Dongyu.
The event will be a platform for dialogue on the transformation of agrifood systems in Europe and Central Asia. Participants will also talk about food production chains and practical approaches to transforming agrifood systems towards a healthy diet in these areas. The agenda also includes a point on the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine for food security and agriculture.
Agriculture ministers and government officials from across Europe and Central Asia will be joined by representatives of civil society, private sector, development partners and observers.
