A Polish politician, advocate and attorney-at-law, Deputy Minister of Economy, Labour and Social Policy (2003), Deputy Minister at the Office of the Committee for European Integration (2004), member of the European Parliament in the sixth term, Vice-President of the Sejm and Senate Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (2019-2023).

A member of the Polish Sejm in the ninth and the tenth terms, Vice-President of the Democratic Left Alliance and the New Left. He was elected Vice-President of the Party of European Socialists in 2022.

He speaks English, French and German.

 

Secretary of State Andrzej Szejna takes part in sessions of the Permanent Committee of the Council of Ministers. He represents the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the work of the Government Work Programming Team, the Committee of the Council of Ministers for Digitisation, and as regards relations with business organisations. He also coordinates African and the Middle East issues.
