Bartosz Cichocki appointed new Polish ambassador to Ukraine

Today, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz on behalf of the Polish President handed Bartosz Cichocki his nomination to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine.
Bartosz Cichocki graduated from the Institute of History of the University of Warsaw. He has been specializing in eastern affairs for many years.
He gained his professional experience at the KARTA Centre, the Marek Karp Centre for Eastern Studies, where he worked as an analyst responsible for Russia’s regional policy, and the Polish Institute of International Affairs, where he was the Russia-Eurasia programme coordinator. He also worked at the National Security Bureau as an expert on Russia’s foreign and security policy, and later as head of the International Affairs Section.
In 2015-2016, Bartosz Cichocki worked at the Polish Embassy in Moscow, where he was responsible for bilateral relations and contacts with the media. After returning to Poland, he became an advisor to the chief of the Foreign Intelligence Agency.
Since May 2017, he served as undersecretary of state at the MFA, where he was responsible for security, eastern policy and the Americas.
