Cooperation Agreement between the MFA and the Polish Investment & Trade Agency S.A.
08.10.2020
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Investment & Trade Agency S.A. (PAiH) have concluded a cooperation agreement on the promotion of Polish businesses on foreign markets. The agreement lays down cooperation rules between the two institutions as well as Polish diplomatic missions and PAiH Foreign Trade Offices. The document was signed by the Agency’s acting President Grażyna Ciurzyńska and the MFA Undersecretary of State Paweł Jabłoński.
The agreement refers to the provisions of the Strategy for Responsible Development, in particular on export development, the facilitation of foreign investment inflow, the improvement of Poland’s image abroad, and the recognizability of Polish products and services on/in foreign markets. Its purpose is to set up a stable coordination mechanism of joint actions to promote Polish exporters and investors in their foreign business activities. It is particularly important now, in the COVID-19-stricken reality which requires the state institutions to act more intensely and coherently to help Polish businesses start and run their activities abroad, and search for new markets and business partners.
The official contacts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions regularly include Polish companies, presentation of their offer and talks with potential foreign business partners. The agreement provides for how the MFA and PAiH should cooperate when organizing such talks as well as other events aimed to promote Polish business, including official foreign visits and meetings with delegations of other countries in Poland. The agreement also specifies the rules of cooperation between the MFA’s economic diplomacy and the Agency’s foreign trade offices when promoting Polish economic interests abroad.
