On 14 and 15 September 2021, MFA Undersecretary of State Paweł Jabłoński paid a visit to Denmark. Its programme included political consultations at Denmark’s Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister’s Office, and Parliament. During his two-day stay, the deputy head of the Polish MFA also took part in the conference “The Three Seas Initiative – Connecting Europe, Connecting Regions” and the seminar “Meet Polish Companies within Cybersecurity.” In the margins of these events, the deputy minister met with representatives of Danish think-tanks and companies from the Confederation of Danish Industry, and paid a study visit to the Avedøreværket power station.
During political consultations, Deputy Minister Jabłoński spoke to representatives of the Danish authorities about Polish-Danish economic and energy cooperation, the current EU economic and social agenda, as well as bilateral relations and joint activities in international fora.
In his address at the conference “The Three Seas Initiative – Connecting Europe, Connecting Regions,” the deputy foreign minister spoke about the scale of challenges facing our region and the urgent need to bridge infrastructure gaps to unlock the EU’s full potential. Undersecretary of State Jabłoński pointed to opportunities which could open up with a close cooperation between the Three Seas Initiative and Denmark. “We should be enhancing our cooperation on renewable energy, gas and hydrogen infrastructure, smart mobility, and hi-tech cybersecurity solutions,” he said.
On the first day of his visit, Deputy Minister Jabłoński also paid a study visit to the Avedøreværket power station, where he was briefed on the innovative Power-to-X technology, which involves converting renewable energy into hydrogen and hydrogen-based synthetic fuels and materials.
On the second day, the deputy MFA head launched a seminar on cybersecurity. Its participants discussed prospects for cooperation between Danish and Polish businesses operating in this sector, as well as exchanging experiences in the digitisation of public administration and services, particularly in the fintech sector. The seminar also provided an opportunity for a meeting with IT entrepreneurs, who receive support from the Polish Embassy and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Foreign Trade Office in Copenhagen as they enter the demanding Danish market.
