The talks focused on bilateral relations, cooperation at international fora and security. The deputy ministers discussed political and economic ties, including prospects for cooperation in the area of environmental protection, as well as energy, agri-food and cosmetic sectors. The officials also looked at the possibilities of finalizing negotiated bilateral agreements. The agenda covered cooperation at the multilateral fora, including mutual support for Polish and Pakistani candidacies to international organizations.

Another key topic was security in South Asia, namely the fight against terrorism, Pakistan’s role in the peace process in Afghanistan and cooperation within NATO. The interlocutors also exchanged views on Poland’s and Pakistan’s relations with major partners in Asia and Europe.

During the talks, Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz highlighted the need to identify new areas of economic cooperation. “We hope to boost trade and expand the range of Poland’s export products offered on the Pakistani market, including high-tech products,” he noted. The deputy minister also thanked the Pakistani side for its support for Polish business operating in Pakistan.
