Meeting with representatives of Polish IT sector

On 28 February, the Department of Economic Cooperation (DEC) at the Polish MFA, together with the Polish Information Processing Society, organised a meeting on business opportunities for Polish IT companies in connection with projects run by international organisations within the UN system.

The meeting was one in a series of follow-up activities to the Warsaw Humanitarian Expo that aim at increasing sales volume of Polish services and goods to international organisations, as well as projects implemented by them. For the IT sector, which is a crucial branch of the Polish economy, finding additional market outlets for its services in organisations such as UNDP, UNIDO, WHO, FAO, WFP, UNICEF, or the World Bank Group offers interesting prospects.

The meeting was organised on the initiative of Włodzimierz Marciński, chairman of the Polish Information Processing Society. It brought together over a dozen representatives of top Polish IT companies.

The participants reaffirmed their interest in attending the DEC’s regular webinars with representatives of the UN procurement division. They also expressed their interest in the Warsaw Procurement Forum 2020 that is to be organised as part of the WHDD.
