Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński to take part in EU’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting

On Monday, January 24, Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński will replace Minister Zbigniew Rau at a meeting of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels.

The Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the current topics, including the development of the security situation in Eastern Europe. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will take part in the meeting by means of a video conference at the invitation of High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

Other major topics of the meeting will include the course of events in Libya in the face of the rescheduled elections planned originally for 24 December 2021, and an exchange of views on the situation in Syria with UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen.

Further discussion will also touch upon the events in the Indo-Pacific region, Mali, and Sudan.
