Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Piotr Wawrzyk underlined that despite the ongoing vaccination programme, which has made it possible for the epidemic situation across Europe to gradually improve, most countries maintain both their internal restrictions and those related to international travel. “From the very outbreak of the pandemic, we have recommended postponing all non-essential foreign travel,” said Deputy Minister Wawrzyk.  The deputy head of Polish diplomacy added that the rapidly changing restrictions could influence the ability of Polish nationals to travel abroad and return home. “Taking into account the current pandemic situation, the MFA recommends maintaining level three of travel warnings.” “Do not travel if it is not absolutely essential,” said Minister Wawrzyk. He also appealed to Poles to check the websites of the MFA, embassies and consular offices for updated travel advice. To this end, the Ministry and its foreign missions carry out large-scale preventive actions and information campaigns through their social media profiles and webpages.

Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska pointed to the emerging new variants of the virus, which are even more infectious. He stressed that they are being monitored on a daily basis by the Ministry. Minister Kraska announced that a ten-day quarantine has been reintroduced from 24 June for arrivals from the Schengen zone and the European Economic Area.

Both deputy ministers encouraged Polish nationals to get vaccinated, which could facilitate their safe travel abroad and safe return.
