Deputy Minister Wojciech Gerwel visited Berlin

On 9 May, Deputy Foreign Minister Wojciech Gerwel travelled to the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany to take part in the Baltic Offshore Wind Forum.

The event was attended by Germany’s top diplomat Annalena Baerbock and senior representatives of members of the Council of the Baltic Sea States. In his address, the Polish MFA undersecretary of state focused on diversifying energy sources in Poland, developing the renewables sector, and the Baltic’s growing role in providing energy security for the country and the region.

In his bilateral meeting with Secretary of State at the German Federal Foreign Office Susanne Baumann, Deputy Minister Gerwel discussed, among other things, support for Ukraine and its reconstruction, trade policy, relations with the PRC, and the 11th round of EU sanctions.

Deputy Minister Gerwel also met with Wolfgang Niedermark, a member of the Executive Board of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), to discuss the challenges facing the two countries’ economies.
