Diplomatic Protocol

The Diplomatic Protocol is the official protocol in the Republic of Poland. The Department prepares visits by heads of state and government and ministers for foreign affairs and is in charge of protocol services for their meetings as well as the audiences of diplomatic representatives of foreign states.

It acts as an intermediary when forwarding protocol correspondence and handles the accreditations and exequaturs of representatives of foreign states to the Republic of Poland and Polish representatives abroad. It assures the observance of diplomatic and consular privileges and immunities and of the principle of their reciprocity. It oversees the awarding of Polish orders and decorations to citizens of foreign states and to Polish citizens residing abroad.
