EU External Relations Department

Manages matters related to the membership of the Republic of Poland in the European Union, specifically in regard to:

  • the Common Foreign and Security Policy,
  • enlargement policy,
  • the European Neighbourhood Policy,
  • sanctions policy;

Monitors the institutional development of the European External Action Service (EEAS), coordinates matters related to the creation and implementation of a political strategy for the presence of Polish citizens within the EEAS, and oversees its execution;

Formulates the position of the Republic of Poland for the meetings of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in the format of foreign ministers and provides substantive support to the Polish representative at these Council meetings;

Is responsible for developing program priorities for the EU Council Presidency from the Ministry’s perspective;

Oversees the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union;

Provides administrative support to the Political Director.
