29.11.2024

Today, Polish MFA Undersecretary of State Marek Prawda and North Macedonian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Zoran Dimitrovski have reviewed bilateral relations and discussed North Macedonia’s integration process with the EU. The officials also exchanged opinions on the situation in the Western Balkans and the war in Ukraine.

Both sides underlined the very good state of bilateral relations. The deputy ministers agreed with the need for both countries to further enhance contacts between Poland and North Macedonia, not only at the level of state authorities but also people-to-people ties—academic collaboration, tourist traffic, and cooperation between local governments. Both sides noted that there is still large potential to develop trade and mutual investments.

An important subject of the talks was the current state of North Macedonia’s European integration and the prospects to intensify the process. Deputy Minister Prawda underlined that Poland has been supporting North Macedonia’s and other Western Balkan countries’ integration aspirations for years. He also noted that EU enlargement will be one of Poland’s priorities during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2025.
