Foreign Ministers of Poland and the Kingdom of the Netherlands hold consultations
19.11.2020
On 18 November 2020, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau held consultations with his Dutch counterpart Stephanus Blok.
The ministers discussed bilateral relations, including the situation of Polish temporary workers on the Dutch labour market, and extending consular assistance provided by Polish diplomatic missions in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The talks also covered the current European debate on the long-term EU budget for 2021-2027. Poland supports a rapid agreement on the budget package while maintaining the compromise reached at the European Council meeting in July 2020.
Minister Rau presented the Dutch side the Polish offer for the seat of the European Cybersecurity Industrial, Technology and Research Competence Centre, as well as the candidacy of Minister Michał Kurtyka for the position of Secretary-General of the OECD.
The top diplomats of Poland and the Kingdom of the Netherlands also launched the 30th session of the Utrecht Conference, a permanent mechanism of bilateral expert cooperation. This year, due to the epidemiological situation, the session was held by video conference.
