Meeting of state secretaries and secretaries general for EU

On 9 and 10 December 2024 in Warsaw, in view of Poland’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union, Undersecretary of State at the Polish MFA Marek Prawda and Undersecretary of State for the EU at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka hosted secretaries of state and secretaries general for the EU from EU member states. The meeting was co-hosted by Secretary-General of the European External Action Service Stefano Sannino.
It was the first meeting held as part of Poland’s six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union. It was attended by secretaries general and secretaries of state from 27 EU member states, representatives of the EEAS and the European Commission. The meeting outlined the priorities of Poland’s presidency, taking into account key issues, both external and internal. The talks also covered the challenges and opportunities for EU foreign policy in the new institutional cycle and the development of the European External Action Service. Further meetings will be held at the beginning of next year.
